| | NEWS Block Party! 03 Jul 2024 This morning, with exactly 10 months until the first Block Party event in New Zealand, May 3rd and 4th 2025, the event was upgraded to the Block Party icon. Anyone familiar with the process for organising large events like this (normally mega events) will know that we need to get to 300 Will Attend logs before the event can be officially labelled as Block Party. A few days ago we reached that threshold so it's now officially all go! Thank you everyone for getting on board, and see you all next May! 300+ Will Attend logs 30 Jun 2024 We just received our 300th (plus a couple more) Will Attend log on the Block Party event cache page, and have emailed off a request to HQ to have the event icon upgraded to Block Party. A big thank you to everyone who has let us know they plan to attend the event, and if you haven't yet, of course it's not too late! We very much look forward to hosting all of you next May, but for now the hard work preparing for the Block Party can shift into top gear! Blue Bison sighted in the area! 27 Jun 2024 It is surely exciting times indeed. Thanks to two prolific local wildlife spotters, Kiwi_Does_Stuff and Reschedule, a rare and giant Blue Bison has been spotted near Rotorua! This is definitely a magnificent beast that you should keep an eye out for when visiting the Block Party next year. You'll find him hiding out in the hills to the south of the city. Rumour has it this bison likes to write its own name a lot. Well, at 12km from nose to tail, who's going to argue with it? And we are live! 03 May 2024 We are live on geocaching.com - the "25 Years of Geocaching NZ" event page has been published! Spread the word, tell your friends, and make sure you get your "Will Attend" log onto the page as soon as you can so we can get on with planning the first ever Block Party in New Zealand. See you all in Rotorua in 2025! Prepare to be aMAZEd! 23 Apr 2024 The GPS Adventures Maze is coming to New Zealand! With the Rotorua 2025 Block Party event celebrating the milestone of 25 years of geocaching, and the first geocache ever placed outside of the US, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to bring the GPS Adventures Maze to New Zealand for the first time. The GPS Adventures Maze is a very rare cache type, so if you're keen to visit a really interesting GPS and geocaching exhibit, and also get this rare geocache icon on your profile, make sure you have the Rotorua Block Party in your diary! | Proudly brought to you by: |
