GAMES Have we got some fun games for you all to play (and win prizes) at the Block Party? Yes we do! The entry forms for all of these games, unless specified otherwise, are available in your Supporter Pack or free packs available at the registration desk at the event. ROGAINE A prominent feature of the Saturday Programme, the Rogaine game will require teams to visit a number of locations around Rotorua, take specific photos, and return to the venue within a set time. It will be up to the teams to plan their route and which locations they will attempt, with varying points scored for each location. This game will be limited to the first 20 teams to enter. Each team will be given a list of locations at the start time of 12pm, along with a prop that they will need to include in all location photos in order to score points for each location. Teams must return to the Block Party venue by the end time at 4pm. Rules of the game:
1. Teams can include up to one vehicle load, and all team members must travel and visit locations together
2. Points will only be scored for locations by submitting the required photo including team members and the prop as specified for each location
3. Traffic rules must be obeyed at all times - any reports of speeding or driving dangerously will result in disqualification
4. Teams must be present at the start time, and return to the venue by the finish time, along with their designated prop
5. Late return (up to 15 minutes) will incure a penalty of 2 points per minute
6. Validity of photos will be determined by the organisers
7. In case of a draw, the winner will be determined by the earliest return time First prize:

Prizes will be held for collection, and shipped out if not collected (shipping of up to 20NZD). GEOCACHER BINGO A classic game played at many big events! For the 25 Years of Geocaching NZ Block Party we decided to take it one step further and have two games to play at once - a "Standard" game and an "Advanced" game with more difficult categories. Here's the great part: You can play both at the same time! Your supporter pack will include Geocacher Bingo forms, and otherwise game forms will be available from the registration desk. The rules are simple:
1. As you meet people at the Block Party, get them to sign off a box on each bingo sheet where they meet the criteria
2. Each sheet must be filled up with 25 different cacher names, with any cacher only signing in one box on each game form
3. Hand in your completed bingo forms before the game close time listed on the Programme
4. One entry (of each game) per geocacher or geocaching team
5. Have fun meeting people and finding out all about their geocaching stories! Prizes include:

At least 2 spot prizes drawn on each day, Saturday and Sunday Geocacher Bingo will run from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 3pm on Sunday. Spot prizes will be awarded (at least 4 in total) for completed entries that meet the rules set out above. Winners will be drawn and announced at 9pm during the Quiz Night event, and during the What Next event. Redraws will take place if not present. BLOCK PARTY ADLABS A fun game to play while visiting the Block Party and GPS Maze. As you complete the Gadgets and GPS Maze Adventure Labs, you will reveal letters that make up words. If you can unscramble the letters to make the right words, you can enter the draw. Your supporter pack will include the entry form, and otherwise the entry form will be available from the registration desk. Rules of the game:
1. Complete the 2 Adventure Labs available within the Block Party venue to obtain the letters needed
2. Hand in your completed entry form before the venue closes on Saturday or Sunday
3. One entry per geocacher or geocaching team
4. Enjoy the gadgets and the maze! The prizes include:
- 25 Years of Geocaching NZ event geocoin "unobtainium" edition There will be a draw on Saturday for all entries received on Saturday and another draw on Sunday for all entries drawn on Sunday. Each day, 2 spot prizes will be drawn. The Saturday draw will take place at 9pm at the Quiz Night event, and the Sunday draw will take place at the What Next event. Winners will be redrawn if not present. HOW MANY BLOCKS AT THE PARTY? Since this is a Block Party, we thought it might be fun to guess the number of blocks at our party! Somewhere at the Block Party venue, there will be a jar full of blocks and frogs. Your supporter pack will include the entry form, and otherwise the entry form will be available from the registration desk. Rules of the game:
1. The winner will be the closest guess to the actual number of blocks (wooden and plastic) in the jar
2. In case of a draw, the winner will be decided by the closest guess of the number of frogs
3. If it's still a draw, then the winners will wrestle. Just kidding. We will figure that one out and probably buy a lotto ticket
4. One entry per geocacher or geocaching team

If the winner is not present, the physical prize (geocoin) will be couriered out (shipping included up to 20NZD) KIDS SCAVENGER HUNT Specially designed for the junior cachers, this scavenger hunt will have them scouring the venue looking for friendly kiwis - to be clear, birds, rather than people. Each one will reveal a secret word, and when all 8 of them have been found, they can submit their entry form. Entry forms will be available from the registration desk. Rules of the game:
1. This game is for junior cachers up to 12 years of age
2. Parental accomponiment is strongly encouraged, but the hunt should be for the juniors
3. The kiwis will be located in and around the venue
4. The completed entry form must be submitted by 3pm on Sunday
5. One entry per child Spot prizes will be drawn from all completed entries, during the What Next event on Sunday afternoon. Prizes will be shipped out within New Zealand, if not collected. There will be 4 prizes drawn. SUPPORTER PACK SPOT PRIZES Included in every supporter pack is a raffle ticket. Throughout the Block Party we will periodically draw numbers on Saturday and Sunday and announce them on the cache page. Prizes will consist of:
- 25 Years of Geocaching NZ event geocoin "unobtainium" edition
- One year of premium membership at geocaching.com (worth up to 80NZD) OR
- $10 geocoins.nz voucher (for an online order after the event) Prizes will be available for collection from the venue after they have been announced, and will be held until the What Next event. Prizes not collected prior to 3pm on Sunday will be redrawn at the What Next event. |
